Title: Looking Back to Look Forward: Building a Legacy

Session description

  • Date: 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM, August 11 (Fri.) (JST)
  • Venue: Room 3-3 Shioyasaki, Big Palette Fukushima

With each new triennium, our network changes as the IAU National Outreach Coordinators (NOCs) complete their tenure. During this special session at APRIM 2023, we ask our NOCs to look back at their many accomplishments over the last three years and consider the legacy they leave behind, paving the way for a new NOC to continue their important work. This OAO Satellite Session will feature talks from some of our outgoing NOCs, a workshop on press releases, social media, and institutional branding, and a networking event.
We look forward to greeting you on 11 August from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM JST!

Workshop description

  • Date: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM, August 11 (Fri.) (JST)
  • Venue: Room 3-3 Shioyasaki, Big Palette Fukushima

Press releases and branding are central to astronomy institutions, but how
can we build a good press release that is easy to understand and engages
the public on social media? Join us in the OAO Satellite Workshop to
discuss these issues and explore examples from partners and colleagues. The
workshop will take place during the OAO Satellite Session at APRIM 2023 on
11 August from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM JST. Please register at the link below.
